Long summer nights, walks on the beach, sand in your toes... (Daydreaming) Oh, please excuse me. I was dreaming of the beach. With spring almost here, I know you're planning your summer vacation. Maybe a trip to the mountain, or the most favorite of all, the beach! I remember many fond family memories by the ocean. Actually that's where the love of coastal beaches, seashells, and beautiful blue waters began. We must not forget the sunsets by the water too. Those are my favorite, and it's really nice if you get a oceanfront hotel room with a balcony. If you're in the midst of planning your gataway, here is a checklist so you don't forget something important. Sunglasses and sunscreen is a must. I remember one time my brother and I spent the day out on the sand and by that evening, we looked like two lobsters. We even applied sunscreen too, but still managed to get crispy red. If you're like me, you're counting down the day's til Spring makes its appearance. These colder temperatures come to an end and the warmer weather rolls in. Also, the leaves come to life and show their green color again. Spring means a lot of time outside, and endless household projects. Ugg. Sometimes change can be a good thing. I'll admit, I'm not much on change, but I do like to see the different seasons. From spring to summer, summer to fall, and fall to winter. Happy Wednesday everyone. Today on the blog I'm doing something a little different. I have a confession to make. When I was a child, I didn't like to read. Yes, I didn't like to read. You may be wondering, why is he an author if he didn't like to read? Honestly, I asked myself that same question. Through school, the only time I'd read a book if it was a requirement for one of my subjects or my parents made me. Luckily, during the summer my local Library hosted a summer reading program. Shout out to June Pike at Carroll County Public Libary in Hillsville, Virginia for hosting it each year, and the time and effort that goes into it. During those programs each year, she would arrange for different people to stop by. One day "the balloon lady" came. That was fun, and she could make all different kinds of art.
