Who's ready for spring?
If you're like me, you're counting down the day's til Spring makes its appearance. These colder temperatures come to an end and the warmer weather rolls in. Also, the leaves come to life and show their green color again. Spring means a lot of time outside, and endless household projects. Ugg. Sometimes change can be a good thing. I'll admit, I'm not much on change, but I do like to see the different seasons. From spring to summer, summer to fall, and fall to winter. I like to see families outside having picnics in the summertime. Evening rides on the back roads. And not to mention summer vacations. Days spent at the lake, long walks, and hikes. California, we stand with you!
While watching CBS This Morning, I couldn't help but feel for the state of California. They've been through a lot in the last couple weeks, with wildfires and now the horrible mudslides. I can't imagine what the locals are going through. If their home wasn't burnt-up in the fire, now it's covered with mud. This is a picture of U.S. 101 in and around Santa Barbara. It doesn't even look like a road, but more like the floor of a river. By the news reports, this took place about 4 AM the other morning, a time where many residents were in bed asleep. If you think about it, at that hour there isn't much you can do. Some people say it sounded like a train coming, and managed to escape their homes safely. Others weren't that lucky. The death toll is standing at 17 this morning, and dozens missing. Let's pray for the first responders, police officers, and fire departments as they hurry to find these missing people.
